with Mommy Lola. Good mood pa kami nito. :)
We paid P500 each for three adults (the boys got in for free). The P1500 we paid was consummable, meaning we could use it to order our food and drinks. We ordered one of their big boodle meals and some fried chicken for the boys. We arrived at MOA at around 7:00pm, placed our orders at around 7:15-7:30pm.
First show started at a little past 7:30pm. Our food still hasn't arrived. We were still in high spirits then because we were all just too excited to watch the show. We weren't able to get seats outside the restaurant but we were seated near the glass window so we could still see the fireworks display. However, for the first show, we opted to go out and watch from the outside.
The first show ended, still no food. It's nearing 8:30pm and the second show was about to start - still, our food had not yet been served, despite repeated follow-ups with the waiters. Irritated, I asked their manager if we could just refund our tickets, it's been over an hour since we ordered. She bargained to give them 15 more minutes then we could get our money back. In 15 minutes our meals arrived. But with no water, and no utensils! It took us another 15 minutes more to just get our spoons and forks!!!
We weren't really able to appreciate the 2nd set of the show because we were all too hungry and too pissed. Ni hindi na nga rin kami maganang nakakain kasi nalipasan na ng gutom. So I couldn't give a review if their food was great or not, wala na siyang lasa para samin.
Although we tried to understand that they were just too overwhelmed with the large number of people dining in their place, ultimately, bad service is still bad service. When we were there, it was already the second week of the festival, so they could have at least estimated the number of people they would have expected to come that night. They should have learned from the previous week's experience, nay, the previous years'! They could have controlled the number of people they were letting in, only accommodate those they could comfortably serve. Heck, I even developed UTI from that night because they only have 1 comfort room for male and female guests to share, and there was a whole battalion dining there. Hay.
We would still want to watch the Pyromusical Competition next time. But not in Seafood Island anymore (we also had a terrible experience in Gilligan's MOA so we won't be dining there again, either). Maybe we'd just buy pizza and sit on the sidewalk? Maybe a generous family member would treat us out on a yacht again? Who knows?
(The last leg of the 2012 Pyromusical Competition will happen this Saturday, March 17, featuring Italy and the Philippines. Tickets are available from restaurants in the MOA bay area or thru Ticketworld. Patron seating costs P1,500 and includes dinner.)
