We attended last year's Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Coming from Taguig, we had to wake up at 3:00am to be in Clark before the balloons took off at around 6-6:30am. We arrived at 6:00am and already the line to buy the tickets and the line to enter the event grounds were pretty long. (We spent 30 minutes each for each line.) Parking was also very difficult, it was quite a walk from our parking space to the entrance.
Although it was a nice experience for the boys to see so many fascinating designs of hot air balloons up close, we probably won't go there again this year. The early wake-up call is just too tiring for a family with still young children. I would recommend that an overnight booking be made in nearby resorts like Fontana.
For those who will be going tho, here are some tips:
1. Buy your tickets in Manila. It will save you time once you're in Clark. Tickets are available at any SM Ticketnet outlet, at ROX Bonifacio Global City and ROX Marquee Mall Clark. Tickets cost P200 each. Children 2 years old and below can get in for free.
2. Bring a picnic mat, some foldable chairs, caps/hats, shades, sunscreen, and money for food and souvenir items.
3. Leave home early. Allocate at least 30 minutes to find a parking space and walk to the entrance. Balloons take off at around 6-6:30am
4. You can ride a balloon upon paying a hefty cost of $200 per person
5. A special Shuttle Bus Service is also available. Ticket price is P750 per person and includes admission ticket to the festival and round-trip bus transfer from Manila. To reserve seats, click on this link:
